A 23-year-old man has been arrested after an explosion at a north London Tube station left five people injured. Witnesses described smelling "burning rubber" and seeing "six-foot flames" at the entrance to Southgate Underground station in Enfield on Tuesday evening.more
Commuters fled on to the streets last night after an explosion at a Tube station during the rush hour. Three people were treated for minor injuries at Southgate station in north London and two others were taken to hospital. Police and firefighters responded just after 7pm and homes were evacuated. Other people were told to stay inside shops and restaurants.more
