Big Colors Big Band został założony w 2008 roku przez byłego trębacza National Youth Jazz Orchestra i Billa Ashtona Graduates, Davida Shiresa, oraz założyciela The Spin Jazz Club, akademika i perkusistę, doktora Marka Doffmana. Wspaniali muzycy, którzy zagrali z tym big-bandem, to m.in. Callum Au, Tom Walsh, Louis Dowdeswell, Jim Gold, Binker Golding, Dave Newton, Andy Panayi, Art Themen i Steve Waterman.
