Prawdopodobnie doszło do zderzenia z ptakiem, w wyniku czego maszyna została uszkodzona. Na lotnisku poddano ją przeglądowi technicznemu.
Samolot wyleciał z Burgas o godz. 10:20 czasu miejscowego (9:20 czasu polskiego) i wkrótce zawrócił na lotnisko. Lądowanie odbyło się bez problemów, pasażerów wyprowadzono do sali odlotów, gdzie czekali na nich przedstawiciele przewoźnika.
Jak poinformował przedstawiciel Fraport, przewoźnik podstawił inną maszynę. Samolot odleciał do Warszawy około 16:30 czasu miejscowego (15:30 czasu polskiego).
