Iceland: Another volcanic eruption on the Reykjanes Peninsula
Another volcanic eruption occurred today on the Reykjanes Peninsula in southwestern Iceland, public broadcaster RUV reported. The volcano also erupted in mid-January and at the end of 2023, requiring the evacuation of residents of the city of Grindavik.

Na kadrach opublikowanych na portalu dziennika "Morgunbladid" widać jasnopomarańczową roztopioną skałę wyrzucaną ze szczelin w ziemi.
To szósta erupcja wulkanu na półwyspie Reykjanes od 2021 roku.
Do poprzedniej doszło w połowie stycznia. Trwała ona przez dwa dni, a lawa z wulkanu wypłynęła w kierunku Grindaviku.
Mieszkańców przejściowo ewakuowano, zamknięto również znajdującą się w pobliżu atrakcję turystyczną - kąpielisko Blue Lagoon oraz drogi dojazdowe.
